My dogs are 5 and nearly two and they're both on kibble as it's a balanced feed that provides everything they need. Can I ask why you want to move away from that?

If you want to feed raw food there's a forum board that has more info on that.

I think home cooked foot is really tricky - getting the balance right with all the different nutrients.
It is all calculated for you when you feed kibble.

I think the odd meaty raw bone, or the odd treat of leftover cooked or raw meat and veggies (with care!) is okay to do, in general kibble is best until you have fully explored the alternatives.

Check out the raw feeding boards here for more info

I find a home cooked foot really difficult too Jac, it's never quite tender enough! :D:D xx

You have two dogs of different age so Your message reminded me of another question i wanted to ask for so long - does labs take it easy when we bought home a new pup???

Ummm yeah you are right i think kibbles are best bet here. Was just wondering to cut down some costs here but even giving him chicken and meat and all that would cost more or less the same. So i think i should stick to the kibbles only.

There's quite a few posts on getting a second dog if you have a little search on the forum.

I think the general consensus is try and have a decent level of training in your first dog before you commit to another. Two dogs are significantly more work than one, particularly when dog 2 is a baby. It's important that the older dog gets a break from the puppy if the puppy is pestering them. Most dogs irrespective of breed are pretty tolerant of puppies as long as they still get time to themselves and 121 time with you :)
