Ok, bit of an odd situation. Murphy (14 months) has always been good at toileting however just recently we`ve been having trouble getting him to pee!! He`s been let him out last thing at night between 10.00pm - 11.00pm for his last pee, He wakes at approx. 7.00am and is fed at 7.15 ish then let out again during which time he will poo but not pee. He`s walked at mid morning and all he does is sporadically cock his leg whilst off lead. So in effect he is going around 12 hours without peeing! Is this normal? Should I be thankful? Thanks in advance for any advice. Steve.
Re: How long between going out for a pee? Harley often goes 12 hours without a wee. She comes to bed around 10/11pm, last wee usually by 10pm, wakes up around 9.30am, has breakfast then eventually will go out for a wee. Personally I am thankful that she can hold it - bladder like a camel
Re: How long between going out for a pee? Molly, also 14 months, holds on for close to 12 hours most nights. Be happy!
Re: How long between going out for a pee? My boys have their last pee between 4 - 5pm and then not again until I take them out 11.30am next day! They have a dog door and can go out any time they like, but they won't pee in the garden!
Re: How long between going out for a pee? Boys and peeing in the garden does seem like "a thing"... My boy always gets rewarded for peeing in the garden - I work, so I need him to "go" in the garden on cue (when I'm rushing to get out). But it's like he "saves it up" for more worthy lamp posts! So we settle on a mix of going on cue in the garden, and a last walk round the block to "empty" before bed. I reckon he can't get up to go to the loo at night, so he's more comfy with the last stroll to leave his p-mail...
Re: How long between going out for a pee? It isn't as if mine are saving it up for pee mail ;D When they go the next day, they cock their leg and have a damn long pee! Although I am glad they don't do it in the garden, we have had thirty years of bitch pee on the lawn therefore burnt patches, I sometimes wish they would They were taught as puppies to go on command in the garden but have decided themselves not to continue
