Hi! I am a teenager who is having some trouble splitting my time between my schoolwork, me-time and hobbies, and spending time with my 6 month lab. My parents are really busy but they do walk him for an hour everyday. I spend 1/2 an hour with him in the morning and 1/2 an hour with him in the evening, and in both sessions I play, train, feed, and groom him. He's a backyard dog (he spends the day in the backyard and comes inside to sleep) as in Australia, we have very big fenced backyards which are very safe. Should we be spending more time with the pup?

It's a fine line- the more time you spend with him, the better your bond will be, but spend too much time together and you will be less interesting to him. At only 6 months old they need plenty of downtime and plenty of mental stimulation to avoid boredom which could result in him getting up to mischief.
