I was walking my dog 1-2 times a day plus games in the yard.

I would usually play for 30 mins in morning in yard. (Avoiding all the trash walking their aggressive offleash dogs), then he would have 20-30 mins before i went to town. When i got back from town (1 hour and half usually) i would then play again for 30 mins in yard. Then about 8pm he would get another walk for about 20-40 mins depending on weather.

Sometimes it would be a walk in woods. Usaully every walk he would be let off anyways and he would have a zoomie moment LOL.

So he would get about an hour of play a day in yard (fetch) And anything from 30mins to an hour and half a day and he would usually be let off and playing fetch.

How often do you play or walk your dogs? Do they settle afterwards? Mine was always playing with toys and chewing his bones even after playing/walks.

Mine only get a ten minute lead walk in the morning and an hour plus off lead in the afternoon. No games in the house or garden :( As long as they have the off lead time, they settle well.

My two have about an hour in the morning , all off lead for this walk which incorporates training and retrieiving. Afternoon they have between half and hour and an hour , usually half off lead and half on lead .
In nice weather , the back door is open and they might be outdoors a lot and have the odd play, but on the whole , they dont get indoor games . Both settle well after walks , both in beds and out for the count by 6.30 p.m. .

Mine are strange, they will only go in the garden briefly, won't stay out, they do have a dog door so can go if they like and in the summer the patio doors are always open. My GSPs used to love having their beds in the garden and sunbathing.

Hi, well Otis is nine months so going by the five minute rule he should get 45 mins a day, today was a bit awful it was raining, and I have developed a long lasting painful cramp in my leg, so walking is difficult. We usualy go to the park, and he has a run around with other dogs, I think its roughly 45 mins, we walk to the park on lead and then I let him off. I think I am going to have to start giving him a short walk in the morning too. He settles well at home, he plays with his toys or sleeps, or gets up to something naughty ! xx

Harley is 5 months old so usually she gets one walk a day - weekdays it's to the park (10 mins) off lead retrieving or playing with other dogs or training for about 30-40 mins, then walk back home (10 mins).
On a weekend we tend to do a bit more - today we went out into the countryside, into the woods and were gone well over an hour an a half (all off lead). We went with a friend and her pup so with the walk, and playing after Harley has slept most of the day since (only waking for food :0).
I always play several times during the day outside for about 15 mins at a time, hubby always plays with her when he gets home from work, usually inside for about 20-30 mins. We usually play hide and seek, or go find in the house at least once a day. We do have some days where we do nothing except cuddle on the sofa ;)
I find this all wears her out and she settles really well :D

Holly's 14 months old. During the week she gets a 60-90 minute walk which includes about 30 minutes off lead. At weekends I take her for about the same time off lead in the local woods. We always include a bit of recall and "stay" training in her morning walk and try to time it so she can meet & play with other dogs.

In the evening she gets a 30 minute walk on lead through a local park and streets. We find that this short walk settles her down for the evening.

20 minutes around the block in the morning. 1 hour every evening in fields or woodland.

    - A few hours on weekends, bankholidays, sometimes the day out with him.

1 hour- 1 hour 30 x 2 a day.... With me -this is a mixture of on and off lead depending on opportunities
30 mins before bedtime with Chris....again a mixture depending on what is going on in the park.
Several plays in the garden, find it,hide and seek bit of training ( although this has fallen away a bit :-[ as he's got older and obedience is pretty good)
Dexter settles really well in the house...snoozes,gets up,goes and gets a chew toy,has a play, falls back asleep.....I used to worry he sleeps too much but he's quite happy and it seems pretty normal from what other members have told me x

Hour and a half to two hours morning, nearly all off lead but heavily managed due to brodicks hunting tendancies. So they do ball fetching, and working with dummies a lot, and swimming if on beach. If I didnt do this in countryside brodick would self employ and hunt, but they enjoy it anyway cuilli in particular likes to do retrievy work for the whole walk if she can! I enjoy that stuff too. Second walk is half an hour to an hour depending on how long they were out for in the morning. In summer usuallly balls in park or stuff with dummies, winter its a sniffy lead walk instead....they run with me two or three times a week instead of second walk. my run is just a fast trot for them mind you ::).I do thinky stuff with them in the house a couple of times a day, and they play with each other a bit too...brods seems happy with this level of activity my hyper little cuilli would like to do more and still has to be told to settle in the evening :)

Puzzle gets one walk a day, Weekdays it is usually road wak or the local park, weekends we go to soewhere different like woods, beach, heathland or different parks.

Barley at the moment gets 3-5 walks a week, depending on how he is feeling and what the weather is like. All of his walks are on lead as he can not be trusted off lead. Unless we are at a secure dog park where he gets let off depending on what other dogs are about.

Weekdays when both me and my fiancé are in work, about an hour a day on lead. Weekends about an hour a day off lead either in the park or the field. Cant wait to take Dexter to the woods! He loves the beach too.

Dexter and Karl are forever running around the house ans garden. Once the light nights are back, a lot more off lead walks and longer walks :)

Before Penny was on restricted exercise I would walk her twice a day. In the morning she would get about 20 minutes racing around the field chasing a ball and in the evening 30-60 mins dependant on weather and where we would go of off lead running around. She gets a bit stir crazy if she can't have off lead time as she's got quite high energy levels - a lead walk isn't enough for her and now she's only allowed 10mins on lead per day I'm struggling to keep her occupied and not bored!!

Weekdays both mine get 45 mins in a morning on and off lead and approx the same in an afternoon but this is spent playing ball etc on the field. At weekends when Ihave more time we do some lovely long walks. Both Labs seem content and settle well.

Holly gets around half hour in the morning off lead going up a hill and lane. She runs most of the time chasing stones etc and i occasionally run with her. When home more training for about 15 mins then half hour walk on lead around our village (all weathers :() in the evening. She then has her dinner and settles down. She is usually ready for bed by around 9.30
Weekends and days off skys the limit apart from puppy school on a sunday

Over the winter it has mostly been a long walk in the morning (average 1.5 hours) then sometimes a 20 min lead-only walk around 6pm.
We have an enclosed garden with space for playing ball or Frisbee so we try to have a session at lunchtime.
We're lucky that we both work at home and can be flexible.

Now that we're coming into light evenings the long walk might shift to the other end of the day.
