How smart are Labradors really? I see them listed in the top five breeds quite regularly. Today I did an online IQ test on Wikihow that I came across.

    https://www.google.ca/amp/s/m.wikihow.com/Test-a-Dog's-Intelligence?amp=1

It wasn’t even fair. He aced the test in record times. I even used more advanced tricks afterwards to compare. The puzzle toy they show went back to the store cause he extracted all the treats at the same time in less than 5 seconds. I’m not trying to brag, just stating the results and wondering.... How smart are Labs really?

How smart is your Lab? What is something he/she has done that made you think WOW.

When we went to puppy classes they said they occasionally get a dog that shocks them with how clever it is.. Stanley was that dog.

He opens doors, has broken into cupboards and always figures out how to outsmart me. His 2 most :eek:moments were..

When he knows he has to stay on his bed while we eat, so he brought his bed on to the couch and sat giving me a smug look.

And once we were at my mams and on her bin you have to push a button to open it. She put some food in the bin and he went over, put his paws on the top then pushed the button with his nose. All of us just stood there like o_O

When my god daughter was just crawling she tried to go up the stairs. Harley led down on the first step to block her from succeeding. She wasn’t ever trained to do this.
With children she will drop her ball when asked, then steps back to let the child get the ball. She runs after the ball even if it only goes a few cm’s and acts like it was the best thing ever :D

Cassie has had to be in kennels for 36 hrs :(
I picked her up this afternoon, she was totally berserk, I couldn't shut the back of the car down as she kept leaping in and out like a jack in the box, kissing me with each leap. Normally I say "tail in" and she tucks herself away from the hinge, not today. She resorted in the end to grabbing hold of my arm and pulled hard, as if to say "get in this car now, with me" . Sweet Cassis.

Moo can open most things we have no bins the house because if these skills. She can open zips on bags pockets fridges and cupboards. She uses her paws like hands and has only been limited in her stealing by the length of her arms. She misses nothing and is patience itself. She looks innocent and use s this to her advantage

Ella gets like this if we have to leave her at the outlaws. I find her frantic behaviour quite stressful as I always think it's a sign that she was out of her comfort zone.
