Sorry not been on for a bit :-\ Hutch is now six months old and doing well Completely house trained Very good with our two cats but still enjoys a chase (keeps them on their toes) He had a large marrow bone from the butchers yesterday with plenty of meat still on it which kept him entertained for a good while but when anyone went near him he growled in a very low menacing way showing a few teeth at the same time I dealt with this by kneeling down near to him and calling him over which after half a dozen calls he came, albeit reluctantly at first but after cuddles and a fuss he was fine and is now quite happy to have his bone removed now he knows he'll get it back again 8) It goes to show that no matter how daft and soft the dog might be they still retain that wolf instinct ! At the moment though this particular wolf is fast asleep in front of the fire without a care in the world : Dave
Re: Hutch update Hi Dave! I think a lot of dogs behave that way with bones. And raw food. It sounds like you dealt with this just right. A happy dog

I have the same thing with Rolo, 5 months we did the wrong thing and decided we needed tonshow him we could take it off him and we would give it back which obviously didn't work. So yesterday he had his bone in the same room as me and I left him to it. I kept talking to him didn't advance over to him the kids came in the room ignored him he was great no barking no growling. Will keep working on this each time he has one. Thanks for showing me I don't have a crazy pooch!
Re: Hutch update As promised here are some photos of Hutch on our walk along the beach today And after a walk, a swim and chasing the ball what better way to relax than having a sleep on dads bed :-X Merry Christmas everyone
Re: Hutch update What utter bliss, a swim in the sea and then a good "upside down" sleep. He is a very handsome dog.
Re: Hutch update Great photos. I especially like the top one where you've caught him leaping through the sea. Happy dog.
