I’ve a lovely 2.5 year old chocolate Labrador. She has always had 2 faded patches of hair on her forehead between her ears as you can see in my avatar. I met by chance, a vet today outside of practice, she asked me if the lighter hair was always like this and it could be a sign of hypothyroidism. Keri is fit, proper weight and even though she is a calm Labrador, she is also energetic when she wants to be. The vet suggested I should think of a blood test but I don’t want to be putting her through any procedure if it’s not necessary. I’ve tried finding this symptom in hypothyroidism on the internet and there is no mention of faded hair. She has always had these faded patches, she is pedigree and we got her from an accredited kennel club breeder. I was never one for rushing to a vet. Nor taking their word as gospel. I always get compliments about her glowing healthy coat, she is raw fed since 8 weeks.
