Yesterday my sister called me about some mixed breed pups at a kill shelter about two hours north of here. Their time was running out and she has been looking for a new family member.

Guess who got suckered into taking the other one home??

Right now its on a foster basis... let's just see how long that lasts. If she stays, that will be four dogs, which I can handle no problem, but in the past, when I had four dogs, they were all adults.

It's been so long since I had a puppy in the house, about five years. Apparently I have selective memory because when I brought her home i was thinking, "Hey, this isn't going to be so hard! It's just a puppy, I can handle this .... " HA! I am kind of freaking out right now because I just don't know what to do with her! LOL (All kidding aside, we're doing fine.)

The note that accompanied her and her sister to the shelter said she was 6 weeks old, and both parents were lab mixes. (Isn't that what they always say! Seriously, nearly every mutt I meet is a "lab mix.")

Phil adores her. He is so gentle with her and lets her climb all over him. The other dogs are iffy; they're not at all aggressive, but cautious, and they're pretty sure I've lost my mind!

I'm calling her Gabu, which is pronounced just like it looks, "gah-boo."

Whatever she is, she looks lovely.

And OF COURSE Phil is kind to her... He is such a sweetheart and will be a perfect Daddy Dog to the little one.

Here is Phil being a good ole guy. He's very tolerant of little Gabu and her antics. :D

How much does she weigh? From her coloring and the size of her head, she might be part Rottweiler. (Very maligned dogs, are mostly delightful when properly socialized). :)

She's very small, about 4 lbs. The vet thinks she will be about 40-50 lbs when fully grown. She looks just like my Bruno (only much smaller, he is around 100 lbs.)
If I keep her I will probably get a DNA test just for my own curiosity. She does look like a rottweiler but she's just so tiny!
