.....OMG I can't believe how much Nellie has slept today! She only seems to be awake for 30-45 mins before she is falling back to sleep she even slept earlier today for nearly 2 hours before waking for about an hour and then dropping off again!( I'm not moaning as I had a little nap too!) She is happily taking herself off to her crate which is good. When she is awake she seems OK, eating and drinking and playing a bit although not going too mad, obviously we only got her yesterday so the mad play may come in a few more days when she is feeling more confident. Just a bit concerned that she is sleeping a bit too much?
Re: I know puppies sleep a lot but...... If she seems otherwise well, is eating and drinking, weeing and pooing, and if she is lively and happy when she is awake, then there's nothing to worry about. Just enjoy it - she will almost certainly sleep less as the days go by
Re: I know puppies sleep a lot but...... Absolutely normal! Enjoy the sleeping times, they don't last. Take photos to remind yourself of how tiny she is!
Re: I know puppies sleep a lot but...... Harley was exactly the same.......don't worry, it does change
Re: I know puppies sleep a lot but...... Yup. Enjoy the quiet while it lasts. Mine stopped sleeping and turned into a mad, hurricane of a hooligan who seemingly doesn't need to sleep much at all, pretty soon after he arrived...and he hasn't changed much since then. Mind, they say if you were a saint in a previous life, you can be blessed with a quiet, calm one so it's possible that's what it is. I did something awful in a previous life, obviously.
Re: I know puppies sleep a lot but...... Thanks for your reassurances! She soon woke up and preceded to chase my daughter around the garden trying to steal her crocs off her feet and has now crashed again after 35 minutes of fun! Re: I know puppies sleep a lot but...... Puppies need to sleep a lot especially if they have children to play with. It is important that she gets time away from the children and time to sleep
Re: I know puppies sleep a lot but......
What IS it with labradors and croc shoes???????
Don't know but I'm on my fifth pair. Lochan ignores them, Tarka adores them. Current pair have a canine tooth shaped hole in the toe...
Re: I know puppies sleep a lot but...... I just bought some pretend crocks for dog walks in the garden. I can see how they may be attractive to little teeth. I hope Nellie's tiredness lasts 'til night time Nicola. She sounds a lovely girl.
Re: I know puppies sleep a lot but...... Enjoy the peace while it lasts. The little darling is trying to lull you into a false sense of tranquility. Like JulieT I must have been awful in a previous life. I don't remember Molly ever being a quiet sleepy little thing, always mischief looking for somewhere to happen

Re: I know puppies sleep a lot but...... Juno sleeps loads during the day! She has a terrible habit of having this crazy hour just when I want to go to bed but she wants to run around like possessed pup!
