Chepi and I went to see Doogy Day Care today. What a wonderful place full of chilled out dogs and run by a lovely lady. All the dogs were happy. Chepi was very nervous but we stayed 3 hours and she got very relaxed by the end of it. Dogs were introduced very slowly to her and they all treated her respectfully. I am really happy with it and so pleased she will spend time around dogs.
Re: I love doggy day care! Great news! Tatze always comes home exhausted from doggy day care - all that playing! But she loves it
Re: I love doggy day care! Very good, sounds ideal. A good, properly run and supervised day care is priceless.
Re: I love doggy day care! Absolutely nothing like that at all around here. I thought it was only in America!
Re: I love doggy day care! Sounds great! I think it's important that the dogs aren't allowed to play continuously and crazily - sounds like this day care provides a nice, calm, but still fun environment
Re: I love doggy day care! Our local Doggy Daycare is absolutely brilliant (south wales). Pongo loves his days there, and they are fantastically helpful and knowledgeable about dogs - and they seem to be on a bit of a mission to try to help dogs that need socialising and special care. I really don't know what we'd do without them. Very reasonable charges, too (£15 for a full day, which I think is excellent value...)
Re: I love doggy day care! Thanks Rosie. Its good to have a positive recommendation in case we ever need to leave Holly there.
Re: I love doggy day care! No hesitation recommending them, Phil. The dogs get taken on walks in local woods as well as playtime at the base. It's just on the A48 beside the Rock and Fountain at Penhow (you could call in and have a look at it, say that Pongo sent you.... ). They're open from 8am til 6pm. Rosie
Re: I love doggy day care! Hi Rosie, mine is 15 squid a day too and they are all about the dogs and socialising; they watch the dogs constantly. The dogs love them. Chepi is a bit nervous so I am really pleased that she will be meeting lots of dogs in controlled conditions - touch wood. It's her first full day tomorrow.
Re: I love doggy day care! That sounds great, Jane! I try not to be too offended these days when we turn up there in the morning and Pongo doesn't even look back over his shoulder at me to say goodbye.... already too busy hoolying around with his friends. I'm there going 'Bye bye then, Pongo, be good, see you this evening...." and he is "yeahrightbyemum...HELLO MATES, WHAT ARE WE PLAYING TODAY THEN??" : It's very clear that he has got some particular 'friends' that he looks for when we turn up, and he's always delighted if they are there. Just like kids... Hope Chepi has a wonderful time! Rosie
