We had a lovely walk today at my brother's farm in the woods with Tatze and Bryn. Bryn is my niece's dog, he's a working gundog. They had an absolute ball. It's ages since they had a walk together as they began being too rough with each other - both have grown up a bit now and they were brill today. The last photo shows them in the yard - Tatze's tongue has NEVER been out so far!
Re: In and out the bonnie bluebells That looks lovely. I particularly like the on-the-move action fourth shot.
Re: In and out the bonnie bluebells Gorgeous photos looks like they both had a blast bet they slept well after this
Re: In and out the bonnie bluebells Lovely photos, the second one is just beautiful with the bluebells
Re: In and out the bonnie bluebells Fabulous. The flowers are gorgeous - almost as gorgeous as the dogs! Do they grow like that naturally? I mean, are they a wild flower?
Re: In and out the bonnie bluebells they just seem to grow everywhere, beautiful colours, beautiful flowers
Re: In and out the bonnie bluebells Bluebells are a wild flower. They don't like too much sun so grow in the woods. Pretty place for posing perfect pups.
Re: In and out the bonnie bluebells Unless they are Spanish bluebells - in which case, they grow in baking hot sun, zero water, shade, and soaking wet, and even round up is no solution. (Yup, I have Spanish blue bells in my garden). But those look like lovely, lovely, English ones.
Re: In and out the bonnie bluebells at this time of year the woods are full of them,i am sure they are very much english what lovely wooded walks we are blessed with , it is like last month daffodils all over the woods,....we are very blessed with our countryside, even from a townie
Re: In and out the bonnie bluebells
at this time of year the woods are full of them,i am sure they are very much english
You're lucky, long may it last. Round here, the Spanish bluebell has hybridised with the native bluebell, which it a terrible shame. It's rare now for this not to be the case, at least around urban areas. http://www.rhs.org.uk/advice/profile?pid=426
Re: In and out the bonnie bluebells So gorgeous....we get some pretty woodland flowers here in the summer, but nothing like that!
Re: In and out the bonnie bluebells
Fabulous. The flowers are gorgeous - almost as gorgeous as the dogs! Do they grow like that naturally? I mean, are they a wild flower?
Yes - these are English bluebells, which spread in woodland. Spanish ones are just as pretty (imo) but grow in gardens, kerbsides etc. English bluebells have cream coloured pollen, Spanish have blue pollen. Re: In and out the bonnie bluebells Thats an interesting link. I always assumed most that I saw were interlopers as they didn't have a droop. I shall have a closer look now. lovely photos no matter the bluebell. The running one in particular.
