I walked Harley every day throughout her season, but only on lead, nowhere near parks or fields and always at weird times. We didn't have any problems when walking. If I seen another dog I would call out that she was in season and if they had male or female, if male, I crossed the road or moved well out of the way. I didn't let her off lead until 14 days after she finished her season.

I started counting the days from when I fist noticed a tiny spot of blood . Like Ternaya , I walked Millie every day but was careful where I went , tending to walk early mornings when possible . Millie went for a full 26 days in season but I watched her like a hawk for a further few days, just to be sure .

I also walked Molly when she was in season. I kept her on an extending lead and went to places where there were no or few other dogs. We actually found miles and miles of the South Downs were completely deserted!

I counted from first day of blood and left it three weeks - although Molly only actually bled for about a week.

I counted from the first spotting of blood.

We kept Tatze in for the whole season and did lots of training and games.

She's spayed now - that goodness!

Gypsy will never have a season if all goes to plan - she's being spayed at six months old.

I counted from first day I noticed the blood. For me it wasn't possible to keep Penny indoors for the whole time as she would have gone crazy!!!

I walked her at times where there were few dogs about, and places that I knew to be generally empty. I have to admit I did let her off lead a few times but only in spaces where I could see any dogs coming from a long way off to ensure I could get her back on lead in plenty of time.

milly is being very good as she has not been out i will get the long line as soon as poss would not let her off lead as she does still sometimes take her time saying hello to other dogs she does not seem to like it that some dogs are on the lead its almost as if she wants to get them fre so that they can play together but she is much better than when i first got her
