Now that Lottie has her adult teeth (she's 7 months), I have to throw away a toy almost daily as she chews them to the point where she could swallow bits of them (and I don't want any other foreign objects joining the sock that I assume is still inside her somewhere – 18 days and counting ). Her toy box is looking seriously empty but I'm fed up of buying toys that only last 5 minutes. Cardboard boxes and plastic bottles and milk cartons also only last 5 minutes but at least don't cost anything! Apologies if there are similar posts elsewhere on the forum, but I wondered whether people have suggestions for any toys that don't fall apart too quickly? Also, what about edible chews? I'm avoiding rawhide as I think that gives her the runs, but what about pigs' ears, bulls' whatsits etc? I did get some cows' hooves once but they seem very hard.
Re: Indestructible toys required! Kong goodie bone with soggy kibble stuffed in the end or sea jerky or sea wraps both from fish4dogs. My two love them and the goodie bones are very tough and easier to get stuff out of than a normal Kong. You can freeze them as well with soggy kibble or peanut butter or sardines in. Toys I'd recommend rope toys like a rope ball. They can chew but they don't get destroyed too quickly. ;D
Re: Indestructible toys required! We have some of those very expensive Zogoflex toys. I think they're guaranteed indestructible or you can send them back for a refund. That said, I think for the price of them, it may be more efficient to just keep buying lots of cheaper toys, I'm not sure. Also be warned that the Jove ball is very heavy (even though it floats) and you could probably knock a dog out with one! We have a frisbee, ball and a bone that Monty loves.
Re: Indestructible toys required! I've found you can't go far wrong with Kong toys. Juno is particularly fond of her Kong Monkey Tuggerknots. It is ghe second one she's had but only because she had grown out of the first one (puppy size) and the squeaker had come loose. There is also Kyjen Tough Toys. I bought her the Christmas Tree when it was available and she loves that as well. Again the squeaker is still going strong as is the toy although I had thought it wouldn't last five minutes. I wouldn't describe any of them as indestructible and she only has these when we are here, the rest of the time it's her standard Kong and a nylabone when she is left home alone.
Re: Indestructible toys required! Cooper destroys in seconds any toy that is fabric or plastic. A total waste of $$. Kong's and Nylabones are the best.....at least they are still intact....the bones a bit worn, but still around. Animal antlers are great for chewing. Rope toys are chewed and destroyed and swallowed....not totally because I toss them. Tennis balls are stripped of the felt and rubber destroyed....so those are out, too. As to no rawhide....I agree....Cooper gets a bad tummy with them. I give him bully sticks.....they stink when being chewed but he loves them and they are OK for him. Good luck!
Re: Indestructible toys required! Charlie gets kongs to chew, and a very small amount of rawhide. Games to rip things up are played with packaging and newspapers etc. Apart from that, he gets toys to play with when I'm playing with him. Tug, fetch, catch and carry games. He doesn't get left to chew up toys.
Re: Indestructible toys required! Buy them from Amazon. I bought a Nina ottosson dog maze. Within 5 minutes it was covered with scratches and tooth marks, so I returned it for a full refund. I picked up a squeaky ball for £1.00 at our local market just before Christmas. B****y thing is still going strong. Molly appears to know when the essential plot line is being developed on TV and chooses that time for a few cuircuits of the Lounge tossing and squeaking the ball every two seconds Her destructiveness waned at about one year and she now has a few battered soft toys.

I always miss whodunit! Go to love them though

When I'm watching tv it's generally time for Maisie to grab a pop bottle and chase it around the room... What a racket!! And she always wants to go out for a wee just when my hot dinner is ready to eat :/.
Re: Indestructible toys required! This is a real coincidence ,reading this thread today.........Dexter has always decimated soft toys, like literally in minutes .,he has never been trusted alone with them....when my best friend came to see Dexter ( 2 years ago) for the first time she bought him an indestructible toy she'd taken the trouble to source in a dubai vets..... A red lobster.... She popped in today for a cuppa and glanced out into the garden as she was leaving and said,'that is never the same lobster' .....well it blummin' is! It's a bit faded ,smelly and mucky but it continues to exist amongst us....I'll examine it for ID to see if I can recommend the brand because if it's survived Dexer it is a truly indestructible soft toy ;D ( I can't find an original post or pic I put up but a lobster also arrived in Germany and caused a bit of a stir amongst us as it seems they could have close links to the Lambies.... http://www.thelabradorforum.com/index.php?topic=2192.msg19991#msg19991 ) ;D
Re: Indestructible toys required! Red lobsters are not soft toys. Red Lobsters are some kind of mad Lambie communicator boost flux capacitor thingy. I reckon, anyway...
Re: Indestructible toys required! Homer has a Tuffy lobster . He's had a Tuffy shark and aligater we called Croc. But neither survived long. Croc was the first and survived the longest until he found the weak point, now he nibbles ans nibbles whenever he gets a chance to get to the stuffing.
Re: Indestructible toys required! Thanks for all suggestions. Love the lobster! It's not always true that the more you pay, the better the toy. I bought a soft toy for £5 that literally lasted 5 minutes, while a £1 rubber egg that has reveals a chicken when you squeeze it is still going strong (with the loudest squeaker I've ever heard).

Re: Indestructible toys required! Maisie isn't a virulent toy destroyer *yet* (although she took her chilly bone into her crate and hid it one day, and then chewed it up when in her crate the next day). But the best brands I've found for soft toys are GoDog and HuggleHound. Skinneez are really good because they're not stuffed so even if they rip, it's okay. I've also had success de-sstuffing toys she has ripped open and leaving her with the shell to play with. She has a huge dragon toy that is now two toys - one is the arm she ripped off and the other is the rest of the dragon, de-stuffed.
Re: Indestructible toys required! Tara has a Kong teddy bear. It does not have soft stuffing, but very strong rope in the body, arms and legs. She has not destroyed the plush cover, either. You can see it left front of the photo.
