Our gorgeous nearly 10 yrs old Labrador Coco was a breeding bitch in a breeders kennels for 5 years. She had 2 litters both Caesareans! Breeder was going on to breed Australian Labradoodles & Coco became redundant! We had her aged 5yrs old. She was quite depressed, had an infected uterus, eyes & ears & frightened of everything! We got an animal behaviourist in after she had had a hysterectomy & we had cleared her ears & eyes who helped us with giving her confidence. She is brilliant; great with our grandchildren, terrific car traveller when we go with our caravan to Southern Spain! But.... she has just decided that she will only go out for a walk when my husband & I are together! We've tried taking it slowly with her walking with one of us but she refuses over & over again & just lies down! She used to go with one of us until recently (last 6mnths) She's never been hugely enthusiastic about going for a walk anyway but now she is adamant & will not move! Treats don't work. We've tried her on & off the lead & walking her in different places but with the same result! We have some neighbours with a labrador who she used to go for walks with but no longer! Otherwise she is happy & content, loving & playful in the house or garden! Is there anything else we can do?
Hi @Maureen Winskill Can you think of anything that happened to trigger the change in behaviour? How is she mentally? Has your vet checked her?
