Just been to the vet's to get Juno's rabies vaccination and passport prepared for our move back to the UK and mentioned while there a patch on her back which has appeared since she started moulting so much and also some red spots that have just appeared on the inner skin on her hind legs. After a good check of the bald patch on her back, which has hair growing back again, we're not sure what the cause is as there doesn't appear to be any irritation so perhaps I was over enthusiastic with the comb - poor girl having such a wicked owner. Advice has been to just use an Advantix pipette tonight as she is about due and just keep a check on progress. The red spots on her skin aren't so good as it is an infection of some sort so we are now on antibiotics for 2 weeks and regular shampooing with special lotion from the vet. So not fair for my little girl but she was areal star at the vets and wasn't bothered by any of the checks. In fact as we walked through the clinic towards the Examination Room Juno went to sit on the scales to be weighed which made Sophie our vet laugh. Just goes to show how useful frequent visits to the vet can be.
Poor lass. Hope the antibiotics fix it up soon. Good that the fur is growing back on the other spot though.
Yes, the move back is permanent. We're waiting to exchange on a house in Lincolnshire at the moment and one day we may even sell our house here in France . One downside of the move is losing our lovely vet whom Juno adores, and my dog trainer. I think skin problems is one extra stress I could do without at the moment but hoping it clears without any problems. Got to do the first shampoo tomorrow so am currently trying to work out the logistics of bathing just that section and leaving the shampoo on for 5 minutes before rinsing off and drying
Mabel does that too. Poor Juno, I hope it's not too long until it clears up. Mabel sends gentle Labrador hugs
