Is it love or is he trying to kill me?

We brought home Hershey on Sunday :) He is a sweet 8 week old boy, my little brown shadow. The problem is he is happiest walking between my feet. So now I stumble around the backyard like a drunk  trying not to step on or trip over my furry brown shadow!
Should I start walking him on a leash to better control him until he learns it is bad to try to trip and kill me. I know off leash training is important. what do I do with my little dance partner wirh 4 left feet:rolleyes:???

And to answer your question, it's definitely love. It's cats that are always plotting ways to kill you, not dogs. Just ask the internet ;)

Haha - yes, very normal. They want to sit and sleep on your feet too :)

They don't do it for long, just while very tiny.

Aww I sure miss the trip period, enjoy it while it lasts. Surely enough he soon will be more independent and be more interested in the surrounding. It's the best time to create a good habit that he's with u without a leash now, I think at least. I must have looked like a crazy woman when we brought home Millie. I used to take treats with me out and run from her and said come ( obviously she followed since they do that) and then gave her a treat saying yes Millie. Later on when she was older and more independent ( like now 7 months old) I got a good recall. I like to think it's bcs of my crazy early training.

I got busted by the neighbors this morning. They saw the crazy walk, not the puppy because he was hidden by the flower bedo_O I introduced them to Hershey and we're going to have a play date in a few months with their golden doodle who is about a year and a half, and is quite a frisky one! My baby needs to put on some pounds before playing with him!!!

    Ohh I loved that ❤️

Stanley still sleeps on my feet now if I have my slippers on. Trying to cook tea is a nightmare!

But he's much more interested in his surroundings than staying safe with me now l!

Oh, so cute. Jet did that. I have one photo of her between my feet and I'm wearing my tall rubber gardening boots. I missed my cue, should have taken a photo in the same position and boots each month till a year old as a growth record. Maybe an idea for you? Jet was over that walking between my feet in a few weeks. Your puppy most likely will too.

I agree, this is a wonderful time to teach recall, while Hershey still thinks you are the safest place in the world to be. Look it up on the board. I did it with mine and it works.
