My four month old black lab is mostly doing awesome, he sleeps through the night for a good 9 hours, gets up and waits until he gets outside to pee. I take him to work every day and he hasn't pee'd in my office once, he always waits until I'm ready to take him outside. We've started to leave him alone in our family room for up to two hours, and he's never had an accident. Our problem is, around dinner time when we are about to eat (and feed him) or during our meal time, he regularly pee's on the living room carpet, dining room or kitchen floor. Last night, I gave him his meal while we were serving dinner and he stopped half way through, walked over to my wife and I, and pee'd right next to us. We had only just taken him outside. Is he trying to tell us something? Any suggestions on how to put a stop to this would be appreciated. Thank you
There could be a lot of reasons why your pup is peeing during dinner time. It could be because he's excited or anxious. Our dog used to do that to mark his territory. I started letting him out to go pee first before eating. It worked for us. You can always train them to pee outside first. Hope this helps
Key questions.. Did he urinate before you brought him in? Did you have him on lead and just stand at the designated toilet spot until he urinated? No play!
