Morning all. Jake has been sick this morning, he brought up his breakfast about 45 minutes after eating it, and he's just brought up a bit of bile. He eats his meals super fast, so we've been using a treat ball quite a bit, but this mornings was out of his bowl. I think he's eaten too fast, but will be keeping a close eye on him.

Any tips for slowing his eating apart from his treat ball?

He's supposed to get wormed today. If he keeps down his other meals, should I worm him, or leave it until tomorrow? Obviously if he's sick again he's going straight to the vet.

He's just finished zooming around the garden, and is now snoozing on my lap.

Rourke has just done the very same thing, brought all his breakfast up and then proceeded to eat it again! He used to do this a lot when younger, but seems to have grown out of it to an extent. I don't do anything to slow down his eating, feel it may be the water I put on the food which overloads his stomach.

I would leave the worming until tomorrow, just in case it is a stomach bug.

It's disgusting that they want to re-eat it. I stopped Jake this morning, you'd have thought I was stopping him eat the best meal ever

Okay, that's him just been sick again after a small meal at 11. Called the vets and we're taking him in for 12 o'clock, I always feel it's better to be safe than sorry.

I agree, especially when they are very young.

I would suggest a 'slow bowl' My friend's Lab has this one and it's excellent - http://tinyurl.com/o4s7dwd

Hope Jake gets on OK at the vet. It is best to be safe. I would agree with the slow bowl" option to slow down his eating. Juno has any anti-bolt bowl just as a precaution not that she gulped her food down but every little helps. Let us know how you get on with the vet

Hope Jake feels better soon ☺. It's horrible when they're not feeling well. We use a slow feed bowl for Ella and we've found it helps with the fast eating.

A cheaper solution for a slow bowl is to put a brick into his feeding bowl.

Btw, I hope Jake is soon ok...

Thanks all. The vet gave him an anti sickness injection. He didn't seen in any discomfort when he was feeling his tummy. We've not to feed him until this evening, and it will just be a little bit of scrambled egg. If he's sick again he's to go back in as it could be something he's eaten whilst in the garden.

He's been playing, and drinking normally, he doesn't seem too out of sorts, so fingers crossed he'll be okay.

Going to take a look at that link now :)

Touch wood, he had his scrambled egg at 6pm, and he's been okay so far. He's had a good play, and now is back sleeping :)

The wee sausage seems back to normal this morning :)

He was so excited to get his scrambled egg he jumped up and knocked the bowl out of the OH's hand and broke it lol.

He's been playing most of the morning and has finally crashed out :)

Glad he seems so much better and I'm glad you took him,I'm always someone who errs on the side of caution ...especially when Dexter was young.
Mags has given you a good idea in the link ...I also use a Kong wobbler ....I put a couple of ornamental pebbles in too to block the hole a bit and slow things down further. They don't half make a din though and your skirting boards can take a bashing....

Our Kong Wobbler is for outdoor use only. The bumping and banging around the house left only two options: outside or the bin!

Haha! My friend feels the same :)

    But I love it!

I have 3 - a buster cube, Kong wobbler and another big wobbly one (forget its name) I put all three out to give them a playtime. Mayhem!!
