Lady ran out of steam on the last shoot so I've been giving her some aerobics as far as I can to try and bring her fitness up a bit, but as a belt and braces move I've got in some Burns Active kibble rather than the Burns Alert I usually feed her on. Just by way of testing her out on it I gave her a light breakfast of it this morning. When I say that this afternoon's training session was "full on". I mean it was -

    "FULL ON" ;D

She did everything at the sprint and doubled!

It's just a high protein feed for actively working dogs. I've used it before but Lady gets a bit hyper on it so it doesn't suit her for every day consumption. ;D

    ;D ;D

So do you intend feeding it to her for breakfast on mornings when you are going shooting?

I'm going to try it. I've used it once before but a different brand and it did undoubtedly gave her more zip. I've given her a 50/50 mix for breakfast this morning. She'll get a 100% big supper tonight, then a light breakfast of 100% tomorrow morning at 07:30 so she's had a good 2 1/2 hours before she does anything really active. Then a top up of a small amount at lunchtime. We'll see how it goes and I'll report back. May be a waste of time but it will be interesting to see.

It doesn't seem to be having any effect at the moment. She's sawing wood on the sofa. ;D

    Re: Jet Fuel!

Well about an hour ago I gave her supper of 100% jet fuel - big portion. She went hyper last time I did that and she's done it again. Been insisting on playing pretty much continually for the last 30 minutes with no sign of a let up. This includes leaping over my legs. Butt tucking around the dining table and paddling me with her paws. Aaaaargh! ;D

Oh - quick update. She's just settled at my feet. I'm keeping stock still so as not to kick her off again. LoL!

Hmmm....sounds like Simba with a chocolate dose....except it lasts for 24 hours....I definitely do NOT recommend that method for a little more energy....

She was a nightmare until around 9 o'clock when she took herself off to bed! Just off out for a quick wizz round the field before we go off to the shoot.
