Just LOVE this thread! :inlove: We have some pretty amazing pupsters ( and owners on this forum!)

I did do something similar with Casper I think last summer, I think though I set the criteria a wee bit too high, and Casper thought he was having all his birthdays at once...a fabulous failure for me... but boy what a win for Casper!

Will try again later, but for now...what not to love about a chocolate drop....:cwl: @snowbunny

I started this afternoon (no videos yet) we were doing so well, but then I pushed too far (working alone) & Coco self-rewarded - kicking myself - well at least I've learned something. We stopped at this point & did some "Leash off/Game on" stuff for fun & bonding. Looking forward to tomorrow.

I really don't think it's a disaster if they self reward occasionally. My dogs have done it a few times when I've asked too much, but, you know what? They learn that they only get the food in the bowl, whereas if they do what is asked, they get the food in the bowl, extra when they're done, and oodles of praise. They learn that it's far more rewarding not to self reward :)

This was this afternoon, just kibble in the bowl. I've got some other videos but I'm struggling to upload them, so I'll try it as separate posts.

This evening I used roast chicken, really to get Molly more interested, as this afternoon she was really not bothered.

Ok I promise this is my last one!

It looks as if I'm luring Molly away from the bowl, but I didn't have food in my hand.

I think I might take this challenge in the direction of control around soft toys, as whenever we've done ' temptation alley', it's been the toys that have proved irresistible.

@Joy lovely videos :). Wow, you can really see the increase in her interest when you used chicken instead. She still managed to work really well though

Great idea! I was actually thinking the same thing with the figure of eight in rally when they put the toys either side.

Maybe I'll have to post a video so you can all have a laugh at how spectacularly well we fail :D

Gosh, I didn't know they did that! I've only seen rally online-I wish they had it near me.

Wow! @Joy don't think I could get any of my three to heel around a bowl of roast chicken...something to aim for! :)

When I showed my OH my videos he commented that it was a trust exercise, because Molly had to trust me enough to know that eventually she would get the food.
