When Bob is off lead he stays around me quite a bit for treats as I reward him for eye contact and keeping close. He doesn't put his feet on me at all when he jumps up... but he does leap about next to me. It's obviously for treats and excitement... I ignore it and only treat when all 4 paws are on the ground etc... Is there anything else I could be trying to avoid him doing it or is it an age-related thing that he'll grow out off eventually?

    Thanks muchly xxx

Harley used to do that all the time! Once we started retrieving on walks it stopped :) I found by giving her something to focus on stopped it :)

Thanks Naya... Bob will chase something if I throw it.. but doesn't very often bring it back to me. Maybe we need to explore that idea further.... :)

I wouldn't worry about it too much, sounds like puppy excitement, just click and give him his treats for staying close when he is being sensible. Or a little less silly, anyway. :)

Inca does this too so I think it's definitely just an age thing. She knows she doesn't get a treat unless she's behaving sensibly so I'm hoping it will stop over time.
