The weirdest thing just happened, I gave Hattie & Charlie medium sized bone shaped rawhide chew each, Charlie circled the yard and then proceeded to bury the bone in a large plant pot minus the flowers as I killed them ::). He shuvelled the earth with his nose to completely bury it he then went back a minute later and got it and is now eating it. Is this normal for a Labrador x Pointer? I was amazed to watch him do this. Thanks x :)

No idea Helen ;D I'm just left thinking 'Why Charlie?' If he was 'saving it for later' I could understand ;D but to go back after a minute ;D x

He obviously saw that you had killed the flowers so decided to show you how to do it then got bored when the bone didn't grow. ;D

Meg used to do that when she was younger. Bury it and then go back and get it and eat it. How strange, thought it was just megs being megs. Interesting cos she's 95% lab and 5% something else. Maybe pointer then?

Lilly doesn't get them so much now, but when she used to get the rawhide bones from PAH, she would spend hours in the garden chewing on them (after rolling on them first of course ::) ) and always bury the rest in a shallow grave in the garden.

When she was smaller, this always lead to frequent requests to go outside to just check that no-one had come along and nicked it.
These days she is likely to consume a whole one at one sitting - we reserve these for nice day in the garden as she is quite persistent in her devouring of them.
I would note that these do not upset her at all, poop totally unaffected, she just drinks more as you might expect. I can reassure you that she would give it up if we actually needed her to. Although she would want out to bury it. :D
