Our 15 month Fox red labrador Charlie is a very placid natured boy, however recently he has started to snarl at some other dogs.
Charlie has always been well socialised, he has not yet been neutered, but this behaviour is new.
He does rub himself on cushions and tries to jump on everything in sight ,including ing my mother in law who finds it difficult to get him off.
Is the snarling at some other dogs because he needs to be neutered ? He does appear to be displaying " Alpha Male " characteristics.
    Any advice would be helpful.

experiencing something very similar (post just above this one) - any details on the situations? I don't think it's an alpha type thing (and whether that is any more than theory). More neutered dogs seem aggressive when out and about that un-neutered. Anything common happening when/before he growls? e.g. I've found meetings on tight paths are just no good as the dogs cant manouvre enough
