Our silver lab has separation anxiety. Krembo is 11 months pandemic dog, we got him at 8 weeks. Over all he is a good dog. We can leave him alone at home and he'll be waiting for us doing nothing(e.g. no damage). He doesn't destroy anything, and he is obedient. When we are out of the house walking him, if when one of us separates (goes across the street or separates, or a few feet aways) he starts to get anxious whines and barks, and in rare occasions when he is on leash he starts jumping uncontrollably. What can we do about it? how can we teach him to accept it? I have to add that at home, when one of us leaves he is fine. At home we can make him STAY and he won't move but outside, with no distraction he won't sit and STAY for a minute. Just to mention, daily he will walk alone with just one of us, so it's not an issue that he has to have us both there. Once a week he walks with a dog walker without us at all.
Hi Dorit, I'm sorry you're struggling with this. These articles about separation anxiety and reactive behavior on our main site might help, as might arranging to meet a force free behaviorist in person. Good luck
