    Hi all,

This is my first post and I was just looking for some advice.

I have two labradors, a 7 years old black dog called Bo and a 10 month bitch called Roo.

I was clipping Roo’s dew claw and she pulled away and yelped. It now appears to be on an angle. There is no blood or limping but if I put pressure on it she does pull away. She isn’t in any distress and has gone straight to sleep. I have no idea how to put pictures on here if you can.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Josh

I've recently had a fractured claw with Woody. It did bleed a little and I was worried about infection so off to the vets we went.
The vet took the claw off above the fracture then cauterized. Woody had to wear a boot for a week to again limit any chance of infection but it's all growing back now.
I've read you have to be really careful with claws as infection can move up them into bones which becomes a bigger problem.
If she's pulling away she must be in pain too :(

    Hope she's ok x

It is the actual nail which is at an angle or the skin/fleshy part of the claw? If the former you should just be able to snip it straight. If it's the actual fleshy part of the claw, you will need to see a vet.
