Hi, Alison and welcome to the forum. There are specially-designed bowls to help slow down a dog's eating, so you might like to try one of those. http://www.thelabradorsite.com/dog-bowls/#slow Alternatively, scatter feed (if you use kibble!), so spread the food out on a tray, or over the kitchen floor, or a rug you keep for this purpose. A snuffle mat would be perfect for this, and would stimulate his brain at the same time: http://www.rufflesnuffle.co.uk/ Or, you could soak it and stuff it into kong toys, even freezing the mixture once he gets used to it. Another idea would be to use a Kong Wobbler for his meals - again, he has to work to get the food. Most dogs love these, and get extra enjoyment from earning their food.
