I have an almost two years old chocolate lab and I have dilemmas to decide whether to go with which spaying methods. After I've done a lot of reading, I am looking at ovariectomy and ovary-sparing spay so far. I also am a little bit afraid to spay her now that I've learned a little deeper about removing reproductive organs, especially since I've been taking care of my lab very responsibly and had no issue caring for and monitoring her heat cycles. Having said that...

Has anyone had the experience you can share about Ovary-Sparing Spay on dogs? id you have any complications afterward? Any changes years later?

If you went with the traditional spay of ovariectomy, did anything change drastically in your dog after the surgery? How about years later?

I appreciate if you can share your knowledge and experience around this subject. Thank you very much!
