    Dear all

We have two sibling Labs, brother and sister. Since registering with our vet, they have recommended using Nutraquin+ for their joint care.
At £66 a box (which lasts a month for both dogs), it is rather pricey. I don’t mind paying that, however, my wife and I are expecting our first child and we are looking at savings we can make whilst my wife is on maternity leave.

Is it worth staying with Nutraquin or, are there alternate, more cost effective, products we could use in the meantime?

    Thanks for reading.

    Pete

similar question, why foes the vet think you need it? Looks very pricey to me. If they are healthy why bother

    Hi
I think you need a different vet. If they are on a healthy diet and get regular exercise that is all you need. I bet you don’t even spend £64 a month on supplements for yourself!

Totally not needed. My Meg is 6, fit as a fiddle and never had a supplement in her life. I think the vet must have been on commission! Keep the money and to put towards fabulous things for your new baby :)

That's £792.00 a year for something that's totally unnecessary, strewth.

I'm with JD, think you need a different vet.

I cannot see why this would be necessary if the dogs don't have any issues but if it helps you at all, my older lab started to suffer a bit with mild arthritis as she got older so I would make a turmeric paste to add to her food and turmeric treats which she was given a couple of times a day. Turmeric is a natural anti-inflammatory and is very inexpensive so it may be worth consideration if you are concerned, however it doesn't sound as if you need to be :)
