Well I never thought I would be saying this but Charlie has become a lazy boy only getting his butt out of bed for a walk, food, chew, teeth clean, play and toilet then straight back to bed lolling around like teenager : When he's finally dragged himself out of bed he is his normal full of beans cuddly boy, is this normal for a 3/12 year old dog or should I be eternally grateful? ;D x
Re: LAZY Charlie!! Well I don't know if it's normal for a 3 1/2 year old Helen as I've never had one, but you could be describing my 2 year old perfectly!Hes always raring to go first thing but the rest of the day he is happy to default to the loll position ;D
Re: LAZY Charlie!! As the owner of a rather busy Labrador, you are very lucky! I have one of each, Brods who sounds like Charlie (full of beans and energy when we are outside, and lively when something is on offer, happy to snooze otherwise and has recently been known to sneak back to bed in the morning once he has had his morning cuddle and carrot) and Cuillin ( I'm bored...what can we do now...can we go and run after a ball... retrieve something? Find something? Learn a new thing? Why are you sitting on the sofa...we could play you know....)
Re: LAZY Charlie!! Well Mira is only 20 months, but I dream of the day when she lies around snoozing in the house. Actually to be fair she does lie and sleep in the evenings now, but she has always been a "bobbler" : I think she's just nosey so has to come running when someone moves from room to room, opens a cupboard, makes any noise which is unfamiliar or might suggest food, wrap herself round my legs when I am cooking etc ;D
Re: LAZY Charlie!! Sam is just the same Helen , as is Millie , both content to snooze, until their leads come out, almost split personalities
Re: LAZY Charlie!! My Charlie is very happy to stay in bed in the morning - but once he is up, he is most definitely up and we know about it. : ;D He has been much, much better around the house recently though. He used to be a complete and utter nightmare in his inability to settle at all during the day but he is much, much better at 18 months now. If he doesn't get up when someone moves though, I take him to the vet because this means he is ill.

[/quote] Yep,that is still an opportunity to practice some obedience in our house : Its very much a 'stay' ( with eyes saying,'when are you coming back?please let me come too' ) rather than a 'loll' ;D
