Koda is 22 weeks old and weighs 45 lbs. I posted a little bit ago about his limping and we've got another appointment coming up, just to give some background. Tonight I was giving him a bath and I noticed than one of his legs looked very dark grey. He's a yellow lab with very light white/cream coloring. His skin everywhere else is normal looking and his leg looks completely normal when dry. His other legs were totally normal looking even when wet. His legs also have way less fur than the rest of his body like his back and chest but I assume that's normal. Here's two pictures of the leg just after I drained the bath water: https://i.postimg.cc/wjnz2hcr/IMG-3966.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/5tvVR6s2/IMG-3964.jpg A few months ago I did notice that his snout had some grey on it after a bath but didn't think anything of it. What could this be? Could this be related to his limping leg or something? I'm coming up with all sorts of weird thins it could be and I need some reassurance since nothing comes up when I google leg turning grey when wet....
This is just the skin, underneath the hair. Skin can be a different colour to fur colour. Hence why you get yellow dogs with both black noses and pink noses. When the hair is wet, you will see the skin colour through the wet fur...
Thank you for helping my fear! I had no idea it could be different colors under his fur. I was freaking out because only one of his legs is this color and the rest are totally normal looking even when wet.
