I am now in hospital with a broken tibial plateau...several fractures that need to be plated and pinned tomorrow! She was running so fast with another lab towards us I couldn't get out of the way in time. She banged so hard into the side of my left leg I went straight down. Ambulance had to come. Be careful with those running dogs! The next weeks are such a worry, what to do with her?
Oh my goodness, you poor thing. Where do you live? Who is looking after her now? I hope you are at least comfortable, and abest wishes for tomorrow. This could happen to any of us.
You poor thing!!!! I hope you're not in too much pain...... I've seen this happen at a Flyball competition. Yellow Labrador, tibia...same result.
Oh dear, there's no way of avoiding a speedy lab! Hope the plating and pinning goes well and you're soon fit again.
Oh no! Sorry to hear ! This happened to a friend of mine. He was hit from behind and needed knee surgery immediately. Hope it's a speedy recovery!
Oh my gosh. I have heard of it happening but no one I knew. Hope you have someone to help you while you heal. How did Libby act? Was she worried? They seem to know when something bad has happened.
Oh no! Hope you are okay (well....you know what I mean ) Libby will cope, don't worry. Who is at home with you or round about? xx
Ouch! Sorry this happened. I can imagine it all too easily. Luna does not seem to have any concept of stopping distances
Oh No! So sorry. I hope you are not in too much pain. Don't worry about the next few weeks, they do seem to sort themselves out. Look after yourself for now.
Oh my goodness, I hope the operation goes well and you heal quickly. Will you be able to use borrow my doggie again? .
Oh gosh! How awful Something similar happened to me with my lab, ran full speed into the side of my leg with such force that it threw me up into the air. I was OK thankfully but they are such powerful dogs. I do hope you have a speedy recovery and can find a good walker for Libby.
Twiglet did this to me five times, I went straight on my back every time - now I hold on to trees every time I hear a dog thundering up behind me!
Ouch! @DebzC, what an unfortunate accident. I hope all goes well for you and you have a speedy and uneventful recovery. You just worry about yourself, Libby will be fine for a few weeks.
I live in South Oxfordshire. My dad is keen to look after her much of the time but mum isn't so keen, which is fair enough! She'd be hard work for them. At the moment she's with her dog carer who she adores but I can't pay for that for several months. Although now we're not going to Bali there'll be more money!!
Interestingly, I was with a friend and her lab (which is why it happened as they were chasing each other so fast) and both dogs just knew my being on the ground wasn't a game. They stood back then came and licked my face and stepped back again! That part of it was amazing really. I've a good family and friends to look after me so I will be ok. Just Libby needs care x
