My lovely Labrador keeps licking her front legs, and shaking her head? Can anyone help?

    Re: Licking

Hi Linnie. Welcome to the forum.
I'm not too sure, but head-shaking sometimes means an ear infection.
Not sure about the licking of the legs, but dogs often chew their feet if they have an itch they can't reach (I think)

How old is your lab? And how long has she been doing this?
I think you might need to have a visit with your vet, but hopefully someone else more knowledgeable will come along too.

I did read somewhere that itchy paws and ears in dogs are linked and possibly an allergic reaction..someone more experienced will be along I am sure to advise...maybe a quick check- up at the vets would be helpful? :)

One of the signs of an allergy in my previous dog was licking/biting at his paws/legs. The head shake is often sign of an ear infection, which can be caused by allergy. Put the two together and I would definitely suspect an allergy.
