Monday night in our home, our lab, Kevin, started limping on his back right leg. He did nothing to cause this that I saw. He will not put any weight on it and it seems to be spreading into his other legs, as he’s reacting to touch now in the front left leg. It’s his paws because, we’ve moved around all legs and he only growls when you touch his paw. No swelling or lacerations that I can tell. Has been on tick meds for over a month. I plan to take him to the vet in the morning but just wanted opinions.
I don't have any advice, sorry, but the experts will be online soon. I just wanted to say I hope poor Kevin is ok and is back to full health soon.
One fact regarding dogs and limping, it can be a bit tricky to isolate the primary cause, especially if it appears that other limbs are also sensitive. Your vet will examine all the joints, including his back. It could be that referred pain from a muscle spasm is affecting other areas. Keep him well rested, no walks until you get him to the vets, and sooner rather than later.
