Is there a list of forum doggy names anywhere? I had a look but couldn't find one. I need inspiration for puppy #2. He's very pale (almost white) yellow. We have come up with Shadow and Bracken as options, but I need some more ideas!
Re: List of names? My bid : 'Kismet' because it was fate he came to you. Maybe sounds a bit girlie though! Happy name hunting, and happy times with your lovely pups
Re: List of names? I googled black lab names when we went to get Jack and Barney as the plan had always been a boy and girl who would have been Henry and Betsy, but fate decided it was to be two boys. I couldn't think of another name to go with Henry, so we went through about 100 names in the car on the way there, ranging from Steve and Dave (my 22yr old sons choices!), Zeus and Thor which OH point blank refused as he wanted something he could happily shout in the field lol. On the walk back to the car we settled on Jack and Barney, though the boys wanted Roly as Barney was a little fatty ;D Their names suit them so much now, tho they tend to be called Jack Lad and Barney Boy. My friend has a cream cockerpoo called Murphy which I love, and also Bailey as in Irish Cream. Is there anything linked to his pedigree name you like? Or what about Ash to go with Willow? Lou x
Re: List of names? Ohh I like Ash. I think a tree would be lovely. I am not very imaginitive I'm afraid if I had a yellow lab we would have had to call it yeller (old yeller fame). My son loves that film. Happy name choosing.
Re: List of names? We were going to call our dog Steve lol I find girls names easier than boys : but thought of whisper or sunny.... Definitely check out the pedigree name, you may find some inspiration, good luck!
Re: List of names? Ash is a great name. I was going to suggest Alba, but I think Ash is better, and Alba is I think the feminine, nicer of Albus (means white, bright, light, dawn - and also Scotland ) so maybe not so suitable for your boy.
Re: List of names? I LOVE Kismet, but hubster doesn't seem so keen His pedigree name is Kimmerghane Jeremy (three of the puppies were named after the breeder's three kids, including Willow who is Kimmerghane Charlotte) Bailey could work, because we both like a tipple of that on occasion, and it suits his colouring too. Osbourne (like the brandy) could be good on the same theme and he could be called Ozzie. We thought of tree names, but couldn't come up with anything we liked; I prefer two-syllable names for some reason. I have a couple more for the list, anyhow!
Re: List of names? Hhmmm trees.....rowan or sorrel? Sorrel always makes me think of red labs for some reason though
Re: List of names? I found this http://labradorsworldwide.com/labrador-retriever-information/1000-labrador-names The list of names I had for Max were: Max, Oscar, Levi, Klaus, Charlie & Sebastian. When I first got him in the car I called him Max without even thinking and it suited him so I just went with that!
Re: List of names? I have zero imagination, Kenzi I got from TV shows I watch which then leads me to....Willow and the only Willow I know being in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and her best mate was Xander (pronounced Zander) so that would be about as far as my brain would get....God help Kenzi if I ever get another dog
Re: List of names? There is a tentative link to Willow in Buffy (although she was actually named after a real tree). We were originally going for Lilly, after the character in How I Met Your Mother, who was the actress that also played Willow in Buffy!
Re: List of names? Bailey is called bailey because he's golden and blonde and looks just like a glass of! I like Ash however some folk might thing of fag ash!!!! Barley? If he's that sirt if colour?
Re: List of names? I like Merlin, but I know a guy called that. Yes, he's actually called Merlin. His family were circus folk. He can ride a unicycle like a demon
Re: List of names? How about Oakley! I also love the names Bailey, Harvey and Baxter So difficult to choose!
