My family decided to get british lab as a family dog. Please advise on a truly reputable breeder where we can get calm, nice and friendly british lab puppy, preferably pure bred. Also we would like it to be a starter puppy, already trained and housebroken. Thanks for all your help!

For clarification, do you mean a Bench (AKA English) Style Lab as opposed to a Field (AKA American) Style Lab, or do you just mean a Pedigreed Lab? Already Trained and Housebroken?? You should probably be looking at a Rescue or Assistance Dog drop out. Very few breeders keep dogs long enough to train and housebreak them. Besides you miss the fun (and pain) part of raising a pup and training him/her to do what you want.

Some kennels do train gun dogs for hunting and field, but they don't usually start with 7 week old pups.

Umm already trained and housebroken ? That will be a considerably older pup if not nearly an adult. I guess it depends on what you mean by training but most dogs don’t settle to be calm and well trained without considerable time and effort under their belt. Meg was around a year old before you could start to describe her as that. As already mentioned a rescue or unsuccessful guide dog might meet your needs better...good luck with your search
