Have you got an emergency word to get your dog out of trouble? Pippa posted an article about training an emergency word some time back, and I did train one with Lady. The article is here - http://www.thelabradorsite.com/your-labradors-magic-word/ I use "Action" and she's guaranteed a high value treat if she does a red hot instant recall. I'd let the word get out of use, but someone - can't remember who now - suggested using it as a positive means of training not to roll in fox pooh, so I resurrected it and today for the first time ever I arrested her shoulder going down in mid fall with an "Action!!!". Zoom - straight to my side. Didn't have anything high value so just made do with two gravy bones. lady seemed ok with that! Success in stopping a roll at last! It's only taken 5 years! : So my advice is polish up you magic word not the fox pooh! ;D
Re: Magic Word Well she did it once anyway so I thought I'd post about it before it all went horribly wrong! ;D
Re: Magic Word Way to go Lady ;D I taught no rolling in fox poo or any other kind of poo not by using a magic word just saying "NO ROLLING", does the trick and Hattie never attempts to roll and we've been lucky with Charlie as he's not interested in rolling in poo as he runs too fast to find any : xxx

Re: Magic Word Blummin heck that's a result....for such a lady she's always had a penchant for that eau de fox poo x
Re: Magic Word That's pretty cool! It's kinda like the 'this way' exercise I do with Penny - 100% guaranteed recall to get her out of trouble or away from situations before a problem can develop.
