Zeus is a 3 yr. old who likes to go through the motions of making a nest ..... on beds, the couch and on his bare dog bed. Seems compulsive. It is funny to watch.
Hello and welcome to the forum! Zeus sounds like a character. My two adults do the same thing, especially Willow, who has to turn round about thirty times before settling. She sometimes digs the duvet into a bit pile, too.
Hi and welcome to the forum. I think I read somewhere that the nesting action is a left-over from wild dogs making their sleeping areas in grass... Not sure if that's true, but it certainly looks like that's what they are doing!
Welcome from us, Hattie 9 years and Charlie our rescue boy 6 years. We have nest makers here especially Charlie. When we were on holiday in Scotland the dogs came with us, at the bottom of the garden were huge trees, whilst we sat round a fire pit Charlie dug a shallow area and lay in it I think it is as Karen said a wild dog thing.
Homer loves to make a nest on our spare bed. He'll dig up the duvet quilt (handmade by my mum) and arrange the pillows then snuggle in. When he gets anxious he digs at the carpet ieven though we've set up a den with a piece of carpet, and blankets to dig.
There is a pretty well known quote from Robert Benchley about that. "A dog teaches a boy fidelity, perseverance, and to turn around three times before lying down."
Welcome to you from Mags, Tatze and Mollie Tatze is my pet dog, a black Lab three years old. Mollie is my fourth Guide Dog puppy, a black Lab and she's fifteen weeks old. Tatze is a bed scrabbler too ...
