Hi folks, we have been lurking for a few months, since taking the plunge and getting the hound. we had to go on a waiting list at our chosen breeders. Finally the little guy arrived mid december at 10 weeks old. so he is just over 3 months now. Max seems to be a fairly popular choice in dog name, so we have another to add to the list. things seem to be going OK at the moment when you consider he is still just a pup. i think we are 98% house trained. we can sit, recall, lay and wee on command to a fairly reliable standard - ie there is a reliable bit of randomness thrown in. just about sorted his humping and chewing out. the last few nights he has been whining early in the morning which is a new (and unwelcome!) activity. not too sure why. suspect it might coincide with the central heating coming on. However, why this has only just started...

Re: Max the black lab in Cambs Hi there,I have Dexter a 15 month old yellow boy......you sound like you are making great progress with Max,have you had a lab before?Dexter is our first dog.He does one woof and a little bit of whining at 5.15 every morning,it took me a while to work out the trigger is the golf buggies doing the course maintenance at the back of our house.Max might just need a toilet break or he will have been quietly working out that some kind of noise, change in light etc means you appear ;D.....if your arrival is a bit late he's considerately whining out a reminder to you ;D.I've not fixed our whining problem because it suits us to get out early...but I never open his gate and let him see me until he's quiet Best wishes, welcome onto the forum Angela x
