I came on here a while ago and asked a bunch of questions in preparation of getting a pup and then I went quiet, I am now just over 4 weeks in to having a puppy at home and I can't remember what it was like before he came home!!

Hey Kate that's sounding great with Gibbs! Yes, the first few weeks can be pretty intense... Well done on getting through the night now! Looking forward to seeing photos

Looking forward to photos....what a fab name!.You sound so excited judging by your post. I can't remember much about the first 4 weeks with our pup...a sort of haze of exhaustion...chewed shoes...and over excited puppy! :)

Sounds great! Well done. Look forward to the photos.

Let Gibbs on the sofa. You will any way (everyone does) and if you just give in right now, you get lots more puppy cuddles. It's a win-win. :)

I remember when you first introduced us to Gibbs (great name) :) Sounds like things are going well (what's a few cables between friends.....).

I agree with Julie - it's easier to give in and let them on the couch ;)

Lol, the sofa rule lasted less that 2 hours on the first day Gibbs came home!! We've had to re-introduce it though as otherwise my two children don't have anywhere to go when Gibbs is getting too bouncy and crocodile-like.

Ok, I'm going to give the pics another go....

    He's a beauty Kate!

My Tatze is allowed on the sofa - Gypsy isn't (awww!) they are perfectly used to the rules, no problems.

Neither is allowed upstairs either - mean mummy!

    :)

Absolutely, you are expending so much energy looking after Gibbs in these early weeks so choose your battles I was the biggest advocate of NOT on the sofa...NOT in the bed..... I had to eat my words at around 18 months....I am glad I held out that long in one way...Dexter knew how to conduct himself on the sofa by the time we let him up ,but my back was breaking sitting on the floor with him up until then !
