We have just returned from a lovely 2 hours with Albert and his littermate Bobi. They are 18 weeks old and had the most fantastic romp on the beach, non stop playfighting. I'll post some pics later. They got along so well it was delightful to watch, and great for Albert to get some real playtime with another dog as most of the dogs we meet are not interested in playing with him. They were completely absorbed with each other and ignored other dogs, people & children. So I was wondering if there was any scent memory for them? Anyone know? Jan
Re: Meeting up with a littermate. I don't know, but I do know that they love being with pups of the same age. Zaba (my friend's lab) and Tatze were from completely different litters but are the same age - they adore each other and never stop playing
Re: Meeting up with a littermate. What a great thing to be able to do I always think dogs recognise eachother if they don't do a 'greeting ritual' kind of thing. My old dog met up with his mother again when she was nine and he was six and I'm absolutely sure they recognised each other (they had seen eachother a few times before my dog turned one so they'd seen eachother since the puppy stage).
Re: Meeting up with a littermate. Sounds like they had a fab time Harley is exactly the same age as the lab next door, but not litter mates, and they can sense each other from opposite sides of the park!! Look forward to seeing the photos

Re: Meeting up with a littermate. Pics. I changed them for you. They look like lovely, lovely dogs having a ball! They are quite chunky builds. The next time you call into the vet, you might just get them to check Albert is the right weight and not getting too heavy t this age. It is hard to tell when they are that build (my pup was also a chunky boy) so it's good to check - it helped me to do this.
Re: Meeting up with a littermate. Pics. Lovely! So who is Red Collar and who is Blue Collar? They look like they had a ball - and what a fantastic place to play too
Re: Meeting up with a littermate. Pics. I am a romantic so I reckon they remember each other. They look very alike

I don't know how to make them bigger. Bobi with the blue collar is around 3-4kg heavier than Albert. They are from show lines both parents are chunky! Last trip to vet when Albert was wormed just over two weeks ago, vet said he is fine. He has gained 2lbs a week since we got him at 8 weeks when he weighed 15lb so big from the off. But I am aware he is a big fella. Can feel his ribs though and he has a waist so not too concerned at the moment. Food portions haven't been increased for 3 weeks now. Thanks for your advice though. He weighs 36lbs btw. Jan
