Our 5mo has had some pretty bad diarrhea this week. We assumed at first it was from a rotten plum he got hold of and ate on a walk. But after 5 days of diarrhea 6-7x a day, it should be better Vet took a conservative approach at first, reduced food, probiotics, etc. However it's gotten worse, so today he prescribed metronizadole.
We were due a tic treatment yesterday (Advantix). We live in a high tic prone area so it's needed. We forgot to ask the vet if it is okay to use when he is (1) unwell and (2) on the metronizadole. Vet is closed now for the wknd.
Does anyone know.... can we put the Advantix on when he's got diarrhea and on antibiotics or do we need to wait?
    Thanks.

I can't see any contra-indications with metronizadole and tick/flea treatments on the NOAH website and vice versa for Advantix, so it should be fine to co-administer.
If you are concerned, you can walk your dog in areas that are prone to ticks, check your dog carefully after each walk and give the vet a call on Monday.

    thank you.
i spent houts last night also looking for interactions between the two and could not, so we did it anyway.
our own garden is full of ticks so it's not just keeping away from long grass. and, there was a dog in the vet's office with fleas and we really wanted that advantix on him asap!
seens ok, no visible side effects so hopefully it wasn't wrong of us to apply it!
