I sometimes give my Labrador a small bowl of watered down semi skimmed milk is there any harm in doing so?
Hi there, much like people, some adult dogs are lactose intolerant. Others can tolerate milk without any problems. In general, animals that are over the age at which weaning would naturally occur may lack the ability to digest milk products and nowadays it is generally recommended that you don't feed milk to adult dogs. If your dog can handle it without an upset stomach, there's probably no harm in it. But on the other hand, there is probably no benefit either
My Lab has the rest of the milk out of the froth up machine, it is semi-skimmed and I do water it down a little bit. Milk has never upset any of my dogs, but I do know milk is not recommended for dogs.
