She started with what I think is a pollen allergy , very itchy skin and has worn away a patch of fur from her side with scratching at it constantly . I was hoping that this mornings dip in the sea might help to heal but it looks as though it could be getting infected . If it were a mid week day I might leave it for another day or so, but as the weekend is looming , I`d rather play safe and let the Vet look at it , poor little thing is looking very sorry for herself :( :(

Just back , Vet says an allergy, most likely pollen , she has had a steroid shot which will last about a week , then if necessary she can have steroid tablets to top her up . She was a really good girl in the waiting room until a lady came in carrying a rabbit and took the only spare seat, next to me ::)
Millie was desperate to get to bunny , Sam ( who went for moral support ) gently sniffed the rabbit and then lay down and went to sleep ;D

I'm glad you got something to help her.

Wow! A rabbit sitting next to you. I know my Milly would have been beside herself trying to get the rabbit. Just to love it of coarse. Well I hope lol.

I actually think that the bunny owner was a bit silly to bring him in without a carrier and have him sitting on her knee , thank goodness Millie was on lead ;)
She is a bit under the weather this morning, didnt want to walk far and stayed right by my side , Millie is usually enthusiastic for her run in the morning so its not like her to be so sedate , she looks tired out :(

Poor little Millie, sorry to read she is under the weather this morning, hope she feels better very soon.

Think we are all 'under the weather' this morning with the rain, rain and more rain!

Hopefully if its pollen it will only last a short time.

Poor Millie :( hope she feels better later. Sending tummy rubs from me x

I didn't realise that the rabbit wasn't in a carrier or something  that was a bit silly!

Ah poor Milly. If its any consolation Millie, Meg used to have pollen allergy when she was younger and our vet recommended piriton tablets which helped her. I used to have to put her in bath with lukewarm water and splash her tummy and legs to get rid of it. She wasn't happy with that. :) As she got to be older it just disappeared.

Thanks for that , I really dont want to have Millie on steroids long term , so if it does return , I`ll try the Piriton tablets, not as potent as steroids , glad that Meg grew out of it :) :)

Hope Millie starts to feel less itchy and more comfortable soon. It does sound a big risk for someone to take a rabbit to the vets without a carrier - good grief, when I had my springer the rabbit would have been supper!
