Millie is having emergency surgery tonight

We took her to Westmoor clinic , the specialist was lovely, very kind with Millie and Sam too , but said he had to operate on Millie immediately or she would lose the eye for sure .
Having given her local anaesthetic drops, he examined her and said that in his opinion, it was caused by a flesh eating bug which was eating away at her eye . He is ringing me once the operation is over and will examine her other eye for signs of the same , he cannot guarantee saving her sight and so it is with a heavy heart that we are home without her , our little scrap .

Oh Kate. I feel for you I really do. Hopefully the op will turn out ok. She's in good hands. I know you won't settle until you get the phone call. Stay strong and don't forget we're here for you. Lots of hugs to you and your family.

Oh Kate, what bad news, so unexpected to have a bug like that. I feel for you all, I am sure the surgeon will to his very best and we are all behind you, wishing Millie well.

Kate, I've looked up Westmoor. If the vet is Chris Warren, Millie is in really really good hands. He's got 30 years of experience in opthalmology so really knows his stuff. Thinking of you.

The specialist has just rung, her eye was worse than he had hoped, he has scarped all the nasty stuff away and placed a patch on her eye, he is hopeful that she will retain some sight in the eye but we wont know for a while and we must watch the other eye carefully as there is some inflammation in it but as yet, no big infection . Poor little love, he says she must have been in agony , just want her home x
