Can hardly believe its almost two years since our little former stray came to live with us and what a joy she has turned out to be . It was hard work at the beginning , she was needy and fearful but time and patience has paid off, plus loads of positive training, not forgetting help from big brother Sam who has , I`m sure, shown her the way . If it weren't for danger of roads , Millie could be off lead all the time , a little treasure for sure , always at my heel . In the two years, she has had her fair share of trauma , two horrible phantom pregnancies , her spay and then last August, her emergency eye surgery resulting in a cornea transplant, but she has met all with a typical stoic attitude throughout . She and Sam are inseparable , she follows his lead all the time , she has also, like Sam , become very fond of our grandson Silas who lives over the road , enjoying visits to his home and his visits here to play in the garden . We never fail to wonder why Millie was so cruelly dumped , but console ourselves that it was their loss and definitely our gain xxx
