I've mentioned Monty before somewhere but I'd like to remember him here is this special new section. Monty belonged to a then boyfriend (can you call them that when they're 50?) Monty was the first dog I got to know properly and he stole my heart. He passed away a year ago at the grand age of 14. He'd been the runt of the litter no one wanted because of his short legs and turned out front paws but he had a huge loving heart, albeit most of his love was for the larder in true lab style. His otter tail was in perpetual motion, his favourite trick was to put front paws on your lap to look all loving but really to have a quick scan of the table to see what edibles were about. Monty is the reason I got Barney - I was hooked on having a black lab of my own and the rest as they say is history...

Re: Monty the black lab Thanks Pippa - it's one of Andy's pictures as you might have guessed. If you ever need a pic of a "senior" you're welcome to use him - he was very special and apparently a very naughty dog when young :
