    Hi all,
With our very mixed weather at the moment, I don't like to be deterred from walks with Scarlett...(That's what wellies are for...right?)
The only thing is, she loves to explore and obviously becomes quite dirty and muddy...labradors and their love of streams!! I'm not precious about my car at all (good job really) but trying to get her from the car and into the house to get bathed causes such mess and devastation! It's like some sort of crime scene....but with mud!
Does anyone have any tips or advice to make this a little easier? No matter how small! I do try and towel her off as much as I can in the car and before she comes into the house but she seems to hold so much dirt and mud!! Any little tricks or tips would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

    A couple of ideas:

    1. I always try to take Holly to a pond, stream or any clean water on the way back to the car. It rinses some of the mud, and loosens the rest making it easier to towel.

    2. I have one of those £1.99 water sprays from a garden centre in the boot. A quick spray can loosen the stubborn mud. I also have a small container of fox shampoo in the boot. The water and shampoo can make a journey home a lot less fragrant!

Watering can, wash them down with that then dry them off.

Brilliant ideas! Thanks so much. I will definitely get a water spray bottle to loosen some of the dirt and get some of that shampoo.
And will also try the clean stream thing. Thanks so much!

Can you not hose her down (outside) when you get home? I hose her down, and keep a stash of "dog" towels by the back door for the rub down. She doesn't come inside wet and/or muddy.

It helps if your lab likes swimming. We don't have much trouble getting Holly into water.

I don't have a hose in my garden but I worry about hosing her as the water is cold and I don't want her to get a cold. I tend to wash her in the bath with warm water and then towel her off afterwards in there.

Holly has the Dogrobes version. It's really good for drying her off after a swim.

That is gorgeous! I've just been looking into them online and I think I am definitely going to purchase one. The back of your car looks alot cleaner than mine!!

That's a very atypical picture! Most of the time its thick with mud and dog hair.

Just an excuse for Coco to show off his Ruff & Tumble - putting it on in the porch saved my house from a muddy spraying this morning!

That is seriously gorgeous. These pictures have totally convinced me to get one. She’s going to look adorable and if it helps keep my walls a bit cleaner then even better!!

They do a great job and the dogs seem to like them. That colour looks gorgeous on Coco.

Harley has got a dogrobes and a ruff and tumble dressing robe and they are amazing and really help keep the car and house a bit cleaner and drier
