Well Charlie may not be a gun dog but I have trained him to bring the washing to me to hand for the machine, when it's finished he waits by the machine and he unloads it item by item into my hand ;D

    Saves me a job!! xxx

Er same as the dishwasher Jen,I don't think Labs need a mechanical device to Hoover, they have their own perfectly adequate equipment ;D

Well done Charlie, he must feel so proud to help you. My eldest Lab used to do this, younger one pushed him out the way and hasn't the same interest :(

    Well done Charlie!
Maybe I need to try teaching Mira some housework skills - the closest she gets to 'helping' with the washing is sniffing out, and surreptitiously removing socks from the basket in the hope that she can initiate a game of chase ;D
She does it whether they are dirty or clean and I can't work out how she can identify a clean sock in a whole heap of clean washing!

Fetch the post and deliver it to you, likewise if you have a newspaper. Pick up the duster, go and fetch your shoes/slippers. Open the door, close the door and I am sure there are masses of other things to do :)

Charlie sounds such a lovely lovely boy and yes I think he adores you Helen :). Brods loves to help too, he gets the post for me when the postman stuffs it through the letter box so you could get Charlie to do that.... I had to train him that actually as otherwise he would shred it, he loves to shred, but now he runs and gets it and brings it to me....do you have a post box nearby, on the very odd occasion I post anything now I take Brods with me and he carries the letter or parcel and he loves his 'job', he looks very focused and has his high happy tail on... then I tap the letter box and say hup and he puts his front paws up on it and I take the slightly slimy item out of his chops and post....we were trying to train a post by brods but the hole is too high :D
