Hi @Stickland Skylark - It's a big scary world as far as many pups are concerned. If your pup is whining and/or crying I would go back a few steps to a point where he is comfortable and reward for calm. When he is happy try one step closer and reward for calm, and then another dtep and reward for calm. Ensure that all progress is at your pups pace, let him get used to the world and gain confidence - one step at a time. You can also pick him up and carry him to a local park, or drive there, and then put him down and again let him gain his confidence. Pups seem to gain confidence once they discover that the walk leads to something fun. It will get better, patience now will lead to many years of fun walks together.
