Well Myles managed to chew off and swallow the ear of a Kong stuffed toy (about 1 inch piece :-\ ) Hoping and praying it just passes. He chews but haven't really had any incidents with swallowing objects before. Trying not to worry and have to leave for work. His dog walker will check in on him in a few hours.

    Oh dear.
I know you will be worried....but what's that compared to tatze's harness-eating feats (complete with D-rings)
I am sure Myles will be fine.

Yes, the story of Tatze and the harness keeps everything in perspective for all of us. Go Tatze.... ::)

Well now I'm curious. The entire harness? Did it come out??

Mags can give you the whole story but apparently yes, over a long period, in bits and from both ends. There was a fun game of harness jigsaw to make sure everything eventually emerged.

Pongo has been in awe of Tatze since he heard about it, and is looking for a way to compete.

Just keep an eye on him and be ready to spot any signs of distress (in which case a trip to the vet is in order). Otherwise you can just take bets on which end it will appear from!

It will come through most likely, just keep an eye out for fluffy poos :)

Also look out for any lethargy, illness or unusual behaviour and go straight to the vet if you are worried.

He could also throw it up - or even retain it for ages, then throw it up. Tatze's record is ten days. She swallowed a lead (whole!) and threw it up ten days later!

Do I sound like an expert? ::)

    This is her list -

One harness which came out (in pieces) over the course of 5 days.

One harness (all apart from the plastic clips, but including all metal bits) which she threw up three days later.

One lead (whole) which she threw up ten whole days later.

One leather glove which came up a day later.

Several teddy ears which came out in poos.

Two toys with squeakers which came up a few days later.

One poo bag full of poo which came out two days later.

All this sounds like I don't watch her, but I do - I do! The first harness she ate at her dog sitters, she took it off the side and quietly ate it. The second harness she ate off herself in the crate. The lead she ate in the car and the glove she pinched off the table. The poo bag she found by the side of the path - bleugh!!

Boogie I don't mean to laugh hysterically, but that's quite a record! Feeling much more at ease about his teensy ear.

Haha - here is a photo I took just now of the little monster cuddling her (earless) teddy :)

I hope the ear comes up or out of Myles very soon to put your mind at rest xx

Tatze looks like such a dignified lady that I always find it hard to believe tales of her exploits. The poo bag one I hadn't heard about before  just imagining cleaning that up…. eurgh!!

And I am sure Myles will be fine, I just found out where the rest of Maisie's Lambie's red felt tongue went this morning… when I had to poke at Maisie's poo to make sure it was red fabric not blood ::).

Mags, that is such an impressive list. Does Tatze have something against her lead in general? Thankfully none of her exploits caused any lasting harm - apart from to your blood pressure :D

He passed the ear, yay. He definitely did not feel good. Oddly though he now has diarrhea AFTER passing it (his stools were normal until now). Nothing to be concerned about?

Wow, the ear appeared in recognisable format??

I wouldn't worry about a bit of diarrea for a day or two. :)

Well it was a red ear. My pet sitter found it (she loves him so much she has been willing to check his poos for the last 2 days :) ). He seems all good now, he really was not himself until it passed. I think we're all good and will try him on chicken and rice tomorrow. I am watching what goes in his mouth much more closely now! Thanks for all the support, I do tend to worry ::)

    Phew! Good news!

Pro-Fibre firms up their poos nicely :)
